Thank you so much for all the special treats this week! I have enjoyed the yummy breakfast pastries, the delicious JAK lunch and the special cheeses and things from Antonelli’s!!! Your children know that cheese is my favorite food:). The flowers I received today are beautiful! (The picture above is of the lovely blossoms.) It is such a pleasure working with your children and I appreciate all of your support, generosity and kindness.
Tomorrow is a favorite day of the year at BPE…MAY MADNESS!!!! The madness starts at morning assembly, so don’t be late tomorrow! I know you received info from the PE teachers, but just a few reminders. Please apply sunscreen, send your child in comfortable clothes and athletic type shoes that can get wet. Your child might wish to bring a change of clothes in their backpack. Our lunch time will be later tomorrow.
Next week we will be going on a field trip to Crowe’s Nest Farm! You are welcome to join us at the farm, just let me know if you plan to do so. You will need to bring $6 for your admission fee. You have already sent $ for your child. Each child will need to bring a lunch that day in disposable containers. We will not be carrying any lunch boxes or bags, and all trash will be disposed of at the farm. Please remember, no peanut butter or nuts. You guys have been so great all year about remembering that!
SAVE THE DATE- May 23rd at 12:45 we will have our end of year event. It is called The Reader’s Restaurant. Keep an eye out for more details soon.
This last few weeks of school is very busy both in school and out of school. I am beginning end of year individual assessments so I will be sending books to read in the evenings less frequently. Soon it will be “read anything” on the book log. Feel free to choose favorites to practice with at home.
Math tubs this week:
-building a graph and answering questions about the graph
-practicing ways to make 7,8,9 and 10
-showing ways to measure
-sharing knowledge about numbers 0-20
Literacy Centers this week:
-editing and making a final copy of a book
-reading and listening to books about plants, nature and the Earth
-writing and reading “magic e” words (words with silent e at the end)
-playing Clear the Board with a team
-practicing middle vowels in words
This is the best time of year in kindergarten! I love to see all the things the children can do with all they have learned and acquired over the school year. I can’t wait for you to see some of the products/projects that we have collected over the year. I think you will be amazed!
Best to you all and happy weekend!
